Our Story

We started in 2018 because we thought there had to be a better way.

Neither of us had worked in recruitment before - which was probably the point. Coming at it from the candidate side, we kept seeing the same problem: recruitment that felt transactional, pushy and impersonal.

Most people put recruiters somewhere between estate agents and car salesmen on the likeability scale. We wanted to build the alternative. Coconut Lime was born from what we would have actually wanted as candidates ourselves: something human, honest and genuinely helpful.

The business started in 2018, with Rowena working in it full time. Donald joined full time in 2024, giving up a 20-year career to come on board. Because it is just the two of us, every client and candidate works with us directly, no handovers.

Rowena started Coconut Lime in 2018 after a successful career in telecoms sales, quickly becoming a top performer and progressing to sales management. Working alongside recruiters from both sides gave her a clear view of what was missing: agencies that actually listened. She built the business to fix that, and has been front and centre on every client brief and every candidate conversation since.

Donald spent over 20 years in design, British and European manufacturing and solution sales before joining Coconut Lime full time in 2024. The process-driven, systems-minded half of the partnership, he handles the CRM, the admin and everything that keeps the operation running cleanly - freeing Rowena to do what she does best.
